12 Dec Residents of Heritage Pointe of Warren Have Generous Assistance with Christmas Shopping
Rather than taking the residents out in the cold and crowds to Christmas shop, we bring the shopping to them. Heritage Pointe of Warren has a generous legacy for its residents who might struggle to go out and fight the hordes of holiday shopping.
Diane Johnson, health care activities supervisor at Heritage Pointe of Warren, said that the staff, residents, and residents’ families donate new and gently used items for the senior living community’s own holiday shop. There, residents can find beautiful gifts for their loved ones. These items are free for the residents to choose from and can even be gift-wrapped.
“We’ve been doing the store for about seven years now. It started out very small and has grown tremendously,” said Johnson. “It makes the residents so proud to be able to participate in gift-giving, and I’m always amazed at everyone’s generosity,” she said. “This is the truest meaning of Christmas.”
